An Evolution in ERP

Traditionally, setting up an Enterprise Resource Planning system for a company is a lengthy, complicated and expensive process. This traditional model is still the best way for most large companies to get what they need from the ERP system. Smaller companies typically have not used ERP systems – the high cost and extraneous functionality simply couldn't be justified. They'd use a simple accounting software (such as QuickBooks) and switch over to an ERP when their business grew to the next level.  

But for the first time, ERP has become accessible for small and medium size businesses. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central not only offers affordable monthly licenses that have tons of functionality that small businesses can use to grow, but also provides a ready-to-use setup built-in to the package (called “pre-defined system settings”). This setup fits most small companies, and enables them to use this robust ERP (once only affordable by large enterprises), right out of the box. Now small businesses can start with an ERP and stay with the same software as they grow and grow. 

A New Way to Get Started with ERP

Now that licenses are more affordable, the problem is that the cost of implementing the software has not followed suit. Small business owners are inquiring about Business Central, only to find out that an implementation costs $50K or more -- far out of their price range.
